1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using FirstLedger, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Description of Service

FirstLedger is a simple bookkeeping application that allows you to manually track income and expenses, create categories, and generate profit & loss reports. The service is intentionally limited in scope.

FirstLedger does NOT provide:

• Bank integrations or automatic transaction syncing
• Invoicing or billing capabilities
• Tax filing, tax calculations, or tax advice
• Financial or accounting advice
• Currency conversion
• Team collaboration features
• Mobile native applications

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Pricing and Payment

FirstLedger offers a free tier with a limit of 30 transactions. After reaching this limit, you must make a one-time payment of $19 USD to unlock unlimited transactions.

• All payments are processed securely through Stripe
• The payment is a one-time purchase, not a subscription
• No refunds are provided after payment, except as required by law
• Prices are subject to change, but existing paid users are grandfathered

5. User Data and Privacy

Your use of FirstLedger is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We take data security seriously, but you are responsible for maintaining backups of your data using the CSV export feature.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Use the service to transmit malware or harmful code
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
• Share your account credentials with others

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

FirstLedger is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. You use the service at your own risk.

FirstLedger is NOT accounting software and does not provide financial advice.You are responsible for the accuracy of your data and should consult with a qualified accountant or tax professional for financial matters.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall FirstLedger be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service.

9. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the service.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease.

11. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
